The black gmc pulled up in the gravel driveway. The barn was without horses from what Toni had heard. Country music tumbled lazily out of his open windows. The lyrics were melancholy and sorrowfull. A grin grew across his face as he switched to a goofy comedy channel and they began making fun of President Bush. The man was dumb in his opinion and it was time for a change. Even Clinton was better than this what seemed high school dropout. He ran his fingers through his gruffy hair and wiped his hands across his jeans. The trailer behind the truck was white with black detail tracing the shape of it. On the side the logo of Humphries Training Inc. was painted green and a list of the family names were under it.
The car stopped and Toni turned off the humming car. He opened the door and cool air rushed from the AC cooled truck. A whinny echoed from the trailer and a few crashes were heard. He sighed and he knew Melody was getting restless. He cooed to the jumpy mare and made her shush. He walked around the trailer and opened the small door on the side and slipped into the two horse trailer. His mare pinned her ears and then realized who he was an was suddenly eager for his attention. He walked down the empty stall and began unlatching the door and ramp and led his eager filly down.
She pranced in spot as he lead her around a few times calming her before letting her choose a stall in the barn. Ya he spoiled her sometimes. She trotted down the aisles and darted into a large corner stall he followed her in and removed her lead and left her in there. He walked down the aisle and surveyed the barn. He hoped someone would come here soon.

"I HATE YOU," screamed a cold-hearted girl. Her scream was directed at a horse, that she had nothing to with, but she felt like screaming at a horse. What was she doing at a Horse Stable? The scared horse looked at her and somewhat growled at her. The girl gave the horse a sudden glare. Charity that was the girls name. Charity, wasn't that a stupid name. Charity thought she was alone. With no one there. So she continued to "express" her feelings toward to the horse.

Toni came scrambling out of the empty tack room hearing some girl screaming nasty things at nothing and then as he saw her he saw Melody getting pissed. She was screaming at his mare and anger flared along with his mares emotions. Who did this girl think she was.
"Get the fuck away from my horse, your gonna get hurt"
He ran to her side and backed Melody away from the door, the mare had begun kicking and splintering at its wood. IF he hadnt gotten there sooner his horse would have caused another hospital visit and possibly her death. He rushed into her stall and began calming her and patting her.
"God you must be stupid this mare is fucked up and she would have killed you if I hadnt come."
He shook his head at her.

She stared at him. "If she exploded then sue me, it's only a stupid horse" she said waiting for his reaction. Stupid boy, stupid horse she thought and wanted to scream it out to the world. She started to look at the angry horse and saw sympathy across her own face. She snapped right out of it.
Charity looked at the owner he wasn't bad looking either. He reminded her of her own brother. He wasn't dead, but he was gone. She gave a quick glance at the horse again. And saw how he worked magic with her with a few quick strokes.
Charity wasn't much of a rider herself though. No, she only rode a horse a few times. She was inexperienced. But the guy who owned the horse must have somewhat been a pro. Or atleast rode more than fifty times. She looked to her side to see the open door. If she ran out of there quick enough she could get away.

Today, Dakota wasn't in her usual upbeat mood. She had a bored glare and a stiff pose, probably a result of too much partying. She sported a light blue t-shirt from Hollister and a pair of old ripped jeans and her detailed cowboy boots. So she was getting a little out of the whole expensive clothes thing, but she was comfortable atleast. She pulled up in her Aston Martin, chrome paint shining like new. She got out, grabbed a new lead rope and cautiously looked around, all the ruckous she could hear from her car, with the music up a good half way.
She places the rope on the hood of the car and brushed herself off, a flury of dust covering her the second she stepped out. She reached back into her car and got out a small container filled to the brim with oats. Dakota ambled into the Barn, not really wanting to know what lay in store for here in here, for something always seemed to be going wrong at one point or another. She walked past the boy and the girl and went right to Birds cage. He greeted her, his ears piqued to see what the heck was going on with the others. Digging his almost black muzzle into her hands, he finally found his food and tried to get at it, finding it unsucessful consdering there was a lid on it.
Dakota laughed and sneaked in, dumping the oats into his bowl and softly petting his silky coat. He was one of few, a Russian Trotter, a stunning grey brown with deep black eyes. He stood at 16.1 hands and still towered above the 6'1 Dakota. She pushed her hair out of her face, and pulled it back into a limp pony tail before she got off of the stall door and clipped the new rope to his halter. Funny thing that Bird. he likes to destroy ropes.
She pulled him out of the stall, literally because he was so content on eating before working. She tied him to a post and got out her brush set, quickly grooming the clean gelding. He was only 4, but he was calm and relaxed as any aged horse would be. Dakota went into the tackroom and had a hard time getting to her saddle, her pants getting caught on a bar hung at hip level. She manuevered out of it, gathered her saddle and pad and brought it out to the stall, once again passing the two people, who seemed completley unoccupied.
She tacked Bird up, got his bridle on fine considering he was now using a bitless bridle, and a martinggale. She pulled him between the array of people gathering for lessons or something she guessed, and then lugged Bird into the arena some more.
She mounted, not completley used to the western saddle but oh well. Bird was completley hesitant to move, he didn't respond to kicks, nudges or clicks, not even voice commands. She sighed and talked to him for a bit but he was so intent on staying put he had tensed up. She looked around, just sitting there and looked at her car and the truck neck to it. A trainer. She hopped off of Bird and let him wander in the arena, and went back into the stalls, a bit defrazzled by her GOOD horse's stubborness and stopped infront of the two people. "Who's the trainer here?"

A sigh came out of the tall guy's mouth as he looked over the girl whose eyes pleaded for her to flee, she was definantely screwed up. Another girl walked in and went straight to the only other horse in the barn, he was a smooth looking brown Russian Trotter. He walked over admiring the animal. Watching him tack up and then refuse to move he watched in silence. When she asked for the trainer he walked up and introduced himself.
"Im the trainer Toni Giradelli at your service, what seems the problem"
He patted the tense animal and worked his rough hands over his shinning pelt. A smile crossed his face as the horse nodded in a quiet anticipation. He was eager to work but he was afraid of not pleasing her you could tell by his eyes.
"Why dont you dismount and put him back in his stall for now and we can figure out something"
Toni was already making his plan for the stubborn animal and he walked to his trailer and grabbed his red longe line.

Charity slowly walked away from the disgusting barn full of fat "horses" especially Melody. "I'm never coming here again,"she whispered.
As she walked out she looked at the people pointing at the horses and the barn. Only too scared to go in. There were little kids. And old people with the little kids.
She walked past a little girl and the little girl started crying. She ran to her grandmother and started to weep something along the lines of "Vampire ... kill ... me,"

Dakota huffed a little, petting Bird on the neck as he ginglerly swung his head around for a good scracth. He seemed a little more at ease as she listened to the trainer, a gruff look on her face, obviously dissapointed with her boy's reluctant work. She had just realized that bird had followed her into the barn from the arena, obviously not wishing to stay out there alone with the little kids oohing and ahhing at him. He pushed at her sides and she smiled, finally giving in and scratching his big heqad, getting under the secure leather bridle. She shrugged at the trainers words and shook her head a little bit, not wanting to put him back in the stall, as it would not make for a very good lesson for him and he would think he could get away with it the next time. Thats just how his mind worked. [He's stubborn and not wanting to work. He just got shod and checked by a vet and theres nothing wrong with him except, today, his head.] She patted his chest and gave him a little peck on the cheek before looking back to the trainer. [Im dakota queen by the way. This is Bird.]. She introduced herself and Bird, who seemed to be taking interest in Melody before he moved off to see Vische two stalls down. [My other horses are Vische, the black Lipizzan, and Pearl, the white Hano getting worked out there] She pointed to the arena on the opposite side of the barn and to the rider atop her, then to Vische who Bird was nipping at in a way that didnt look like play. [BIRD!] She yelled at him and he jerked his head back and stepped back away from Vische, moving towards her with his head low. She kicked some dirt around and looked at bird, a little dissapointed in his progress today.

He smiled and knew exactly what the problem was as soon as she began looking at the ground and kicking dirt around. He would diagnose the problem as soon as he got to ride the beautiful animal once.
"Do you mind if we go up to the arena and I ride him?"
His tones were sweet and soft and caring. He knew what it was like to be stuck with nothing when it came to a horse. The sun beat down on the turf as he stepped outside waiting for her reaction. Understanding that she probably would say no until she got to know him, or perhaps she knew his reputation as the next big thing to hit American riding. A lopsided grin fell across his face as he squinted to watch her other horse working in the ring. The hano mare was magnificent, but the way that the girl was having someone else work her answered some more questions. He thought it was just a lack of understanding between the pair. He had seen it mutiple times before. The horse thought he or she was boss and not the rider. And the poor rider got upset and fustrated which made the horse even prouder.
He swished his feet around in the brown dirt and he thrust his hands in his pocket. He knew between Bird and Dakota things could be fixed it was just his concern about his mare Melody that always filled his mind.
"That hano in the stall down there is Melody dont go near her please she is agressive and I dont want anyone to get hurt"
He nodded to the completely closed off stall. He sighed he wished he didnt have to confine her so much, but she brought it on herself.

Dakota shook her head slightly, petting Bird every once in a while as she handed him the reins. She began walking towards the barn when she looked back at Melody and smirked. [Im sure she'll come around in time.] She glanced back out at Pearl and to Bailey sitting atop of her now. She had let Bailey ride her until her own horses came in form her old home down in Florida. She waved at her friend and diverted her attention back to Toni. [Vische used to be like that. I think its just the Hano thing. They're all crazy. I had a mare when I was young and she had a spirit like you wouldn't believe. Took me YEARS of training to get her to comply to my requests. Im just a little upset that Bird is being this way.] She expressed her concern and ran her hand across his back and down, her fingertips reaching his flank as she began to scratch there for him. He raised his head and closed his eyes, grunting a little bit as a pleased look came onto his face. Dakota laughed and pet him some more and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She looked back over at Toni and nodded about the arena. [Let's go before it gets dark.]
